The Humphrey Fellowship Program is for professionals with experience who want to improve their leadership capabilities by facilitating the sharing of knowledge and understanding regarding issues of concern within both the U.S. and Fellows’ country of origin.

Host Institution(s):

Fellows are assigned to any of the participating U.S.A. universities. Fellows aren’t able to pick which college they wish to attend.Instead, they are divided into groups of 7-15 students to the appropriate university according to their area of interest and their professional field of study since they don’t have the choice of the institution they wish to gain admission to there are advised to cooperate with the host university.

Countries with a population eligible to be included are eligible to be in Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, Eurasia, the Middle East, North Africa, East Asia, and Pacific, South and Central Asia, and the Western Hemisphere.

Value of the scholarship/inclusions:

The Fellowship offers:

* Tuition and acceptance fees are to be paid at the designated host universitya

* Pre-academic English training in the language, If required

• A monthly Maintenance (living) allowance, which includes an allowance for settling in once;

“Accident and sickness insurance;

* A book allowance;

One-time computing support;

• Air transportation (international travel between and to U.S.A. U.S. for the program as well as domestic travel to the scheduled event of the program);

* A Professional Development allowance covers professional activities, like field excursions, professional visits, and conferences.

 

Eligibility:

The applicant must possess:

* An undergraduate (first university) degree,

* At least five years of full-time professional knowledge

* No or limited prior knowledge of the United States,

* Demonstrated leadership abilities,

* An account of service in the public sector in the community.

* English language ability

Instructions for the application:

The application deadlines differ by country but fall from May to September every year. The person nominating the U.S. Embassy or Binational Fulbright Commission will notify that it has an internal deadline for submitting applications. Embassies and Commissions must submit their applications at the Institute of International Education office in Washington, DC, by 1 October.
