Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following requirements for this Southeast Asia Ph.D. Fellowship at Google, USA 2022:

The applicants must be graduate students seeking a full-time Ph.D. at a university in Africa, India, or Southeast Asia*.
Professionals and students in their master’s or bachelor’s degrees can apply.
Candidates for master’s and undergraduate degrees must be full-time students of the African, Indian, or Southeast Asian universities.
Professionals have to work for or be associated with an organization registered within Africa, India, or Southeast Asia.
The Fellowship award for these applicants is contingent on the awardee being enrolled in an all-time Ph.D. program in the field of computer science (or an area of related study) within one of the African, Indian, or Southeast Asian institutions within the calendar year of the Fellowship award, or else it will be forfeited.
The awarding of the Fellowship does not mean acceptance into the school’s Ph.D. program. The recipient must be able to complete the Ph.D. admissions process at the university or institute where they would like to enroll in the Ph.D. program.
The Fellowship will be awarded according to the rules and regulations at the university or institute where the awardee is in the Ph.D. program.
If students fail to complete their full-time Ph.D. program for the duration of the Fellowship, the prize will be forfeited. The award.
Google employees are not eligible. Google and their spouses, children, and household members are not ineligible.
Students who have received an industry-related prize of similar value are not eligible. Any money from the government or a non-profit organization is exempt.
